Overview Position: Casual Security Guard. Site: Multiple sites in Pictou County (e.g., Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital and Aberdeen Hospital). Travel to various hospital sites within the county is required. A valid drivers license and personal vehicle are required. Position Details Position: Casual Security Guard Site: Multiple sites in Pictou County Payrate: $20.50 per hour Key Responsibilities Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits to ensure safety and security. Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems; report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities. Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergencies (medical, fire alarms, security threats); assist staff during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff; provide directions and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Conflict Resolution: Deescalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally. Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents; complete incident and security reports accurately. Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated security and safety. Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure compliance with hospital policies including visitor and patient protocols; address violations appropriately.
