Position Grade4 Elementary Generalist Teacher (Temporary) Fulltime (1FTE) Location: Heritage Christian Academy, Calgary Anticipated start date: August 21,2026 Anticipated end date: December 18,2026 (or return of incumbent) Assignment Grade4 Elementary Generalist Responsibilities Establish clear objectives and learning outcomes for each course of study in accordance with Alberta Education curriculum guidelines and communicate them to students. Prepare classroom materials and demonstrate written evidence of preparation upon request. Instruct using varied instructional approaches appropriate for grade level and student needs, balancing instructional, demonstration, and work time. Assign lessons, correct homework, and maintain accurate student records. Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, using projects, tests, and assignments. Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order and safety under the guidance of the Principal. Meet with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders to discuss student progress and needs. Collaborate with staff to plan, evaluate, and revise school programs. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops for continued development. Prepare students for subsequent grades by encouraging exploration of learning opportunities and perseverance. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate varied student needs and interests. Implement remedial programmes for students requiring extra help. Ensure safe use of equipment and assist students with special needs in accessing learning environments. Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, guestspeaker visits, and extracurricular activities. Provide assistance as directed to the Principal in supervising and evaluating support staff. Experience & Qualifications Alberta Teaching Certificate. Previous experience administering junior high school curriculum. Current CRC including Vulnerable Sector check.
