Huckleberry Midwives is an Indigenous led midwifery team offering culturally relevant full spectrum urban Indigenous midwifery care on the unceded territories of the xmkym (Musqueam), Swxw7mesh (Squamish), and slilwta (Tsleil-Waututh) known as Vancouver. Over the last few years we have built a team of Indigenous and nonIndigenous/Setter midwives. Our work is always Indigenous led, informed, and guided and we hope to expand our team. Position We are looking for a Registered Midwife to cover a parental leave for 1 year, with longer term potential. The schedule offers a mix of shorter call stretches (2448hours) and includes 3 clinic days a week, typically 94pm. Team meetings occur monthly for case reviews and planning. Clinical Privileges Our privileges are held at BC Womens Hospital (Level1) with specialized recognition for our role in the Urban Indigenous Midwifery Outreach Program (UIMOP) which includes additional outofcatchment exceptions.
