Supports implementation, monitoring, and adherence to district and company accounting policies and procedures. Reviews, analyzes, and approves financial adjustments, reconciliations, forecasts, and reports; follows up on discrepancies. Leads monthend and yearend review processes, including preparation of district review and yearend documentation. Assembles internal and external financial reporting (e.g., MOR, DRM, audits, government reporting, taxes). Manages the district cashflow cycle and recommends process improvements. Ensures timely and compliant payments to trade partners, suppliers, and service providers. Supervises accounting department operations, resource allocation, quality control, and team performance. Provides technical expertise, coaching, and guidance on accounting systems, processes, and best practices. Builds strong stakeholder relationships, supports audits, explores process improvements and technology, and models a solutionfocused, profitabilitydriven culture. Qualifications Postsecondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; pursuit of accounting designation is an asset. Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related industry; fixed asset experience an asset. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Strong understanding of payroll, tax, labor agreements, and applicable government legislation. Proven leadership capability with experience supervising staff, delegating work, and managing priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high professional discretion. Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment. Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and conflicts with internal and external stakeholders. Advanced negotiation skills and a track record of improving or challenging existing processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting/risk management systems.
