Learning and Clinical Development Specialist 4211 Yonge St, North York, ON M2P 2A9, Canada Job Description Posted Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 4:00 AM Under the direction of the Manager, Learning, Development, and Organizational Performance, the Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical and organizational training that supports safe, effective, and personcentered care. The role provides facilitation, coaching, and skill development for clinical and nonclinical employees, with a focus on onboarding, core competencies, and ongoing professional development. This position blends clinical expertise with instructional design and facilitation skills, ensuring training is evidencebased, aligned with best practices, and responsive to regulatory and organizational requirements. The Specialist also collaborates with internal partners to evaluate learning needs, adapt programming, and support continuous improvement in service delivery and staff capability. We are looking for: A fulltime permanent Learning and Clinical Development Specialist. Hours of Work 34hour work week. Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 4:30pm and Friday: 8:30am to 3:30pm. This is a hybrid role. Reports to Manager, Learning, Development and Performance. Compensation Hiring Salary Range: The salary for this role ranges from $65,000 to $76,500 per year, depending on your skills and experience. Responsibilities Clinical Education & Facilitation Facilitate clinical skills training, orientation, and competency refreshers for PSWs, Support Workers, RPNs, and other care team members. Model safe, evidencebased, personcentered care techniques in accordance with professional standards and organizational policy. Lead inperson and virtual instructorled training (ILT/VILT) using interactive, adultlearningcentered methods. Adapt facilitation approaches based on learner needs, experience levels, and clinical context. Mentor and coach staff on clinical skills, documentation practices, client interaction, and safety practices. Support and coach preceptors, supervisors, and clinical leaders to strengthen their teaching skills. Instructional Design & Program Development Collaborate with SMEs and operations leaders to design and update training curriculum, lesson plans, job aids, and competency tools. Conduct learning needs assessments to identify skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities. Integrate scenariobased learning, handson practice, role play, and reflective exercises into clinical training programs. Contribute to blended learning by aligning inperson training with elearning, microlearning, and selfdirected modules. Support evaluation of learning outcomes and recommend enhancements. Learning Management System (LMS) Support Assist with LMS administration (Dayforce preferred), including course setup, tracking attendance, maintaining records, and generating reports. Upload and organize course materials and ensure content accuracy and version control. Provide LMS support to learners and internal trainers. Program Coordination & Implementation Coordinate training schedules, facilities, materials, and logistics. Support TraintheTrainer programs to expand internal facilitation capacity. Participate in learningrelated committees, initiatives, and quality improvement activities. Safety, Quality, and Compliance Ensure training aligns with professional practice standards, regulatory guidelines, and organizational policies. Reinforce infection prevention and control procedures and client safety practices during clinical training. Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous learning, and equitable practice. Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Allied Health, or other regulated health care discipline. Bachelors degree preferred. 2+ years combined experience in clinical care and adult education, facilitation, preceptorship, or mentorship. Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead both clinical and general organizational training. Knowledge of adult learning and inclusive facilitation techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with LMS platforms (Dayforce preferred). Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Experience delivering onboarding or staff development in healthcare is an asset. Experience designing clinical learning materials or competency assessments is considered an asset. Certifications such as GPA, UFirst!, PIECES, Montessori Dementia, or Safe Patient Handling are considered an asset. Experience with elearning tools (iSpring, Articulate, Captivate) is considered an asset.
