Duration : Temporary, full-time; 35 hrs/week; 12 weeks/420hours Monday-Friday Responsible To: Community Circle Coordinator L''Arche Winnipeg is a vibrant disability services organization that is primarily located in Transcona and St. Boniface. For over 50 years, we have been actively supporting, creating homes, and facilitating social opportunities for about 25 people living with intellectual disabilities, along with their assistants. Our diverse community includes six houses, one independent living unit, the L''Arche Tova Caf and an extended network of friends who are passionate about creating a world where all people can thrive. Our mission is to make known the gifts of individuals with intellectual disabilities and create a world where everyone belongs. The Day Programming Logistics Coordinator supports the social Life of the LArche Winnipeg Community by assisting in the planning and coordination of Day Program activities, while building meaningful friendships with our core members (residents with intellectual disabilities) and assistants. The Day Programming Logistics Coordinator will gain valuable employment experience in the areas of disability services, social services, non-profit work, event planning, office administration, customer service, and Microsoft Office. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain the general functioning of the Day Program Ordering supplies, maintaining Programming equipment Assisting with set up and takedown of equipment Maintaining cleanliness of the space Taking out garbage and recycling. Provide logistical support to the Day Program Compiling and sending out a weekly information bulletin and a monthly calendar to the Community Circle Members and assistants Send reminders about upcoming events to participants and assistants Plan and book or events for the summer and upcoming months Purchasing supplies for activities as needed Make reservations community outings (e.g., volunteering, museum visits) Arrange accessible transportation off-site visits Attend events to provide support as required Processing incoming and outgoing mail, email, and faxed correspondence. Receiving and handling/directing telephone calls. Attend all training and formation sessions to learn about LArche, including but not limited to: Monthly Assistants Formation Meetings Assistants Body Meetings Weekly check-in meetings with Community Leader Online LArche Canada Professional Development Courses Contribute positively to our community culture of inclusion and friendship, including but not limited to: Upholding our core values of inclusion, respect, mutual care, compassion, peace, diversity. Building relationships with core members with intellectual disabilities, and with LArche Assistants and Office Staff. Other tasks as required. Qualifications: Experience working with people with disabilities is an asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills Administrative experience is an asset Acceptable Criminal record check, Adult & Child Abuse Registry checks (required) Eligibility Requirements: Due to Canada Summer Jobs funding, you must meet the following eligibility requirements: Age 15-30 Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
