About the Role While our Project Accountants day-to-day tasks may look different every day, youll primarily manage a portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, with responsibility for: Leading monthly billing and ensuring accurate, timely revenue capture Partnering with Project Managers on contracts, changes, and financial performance Monitoring WIP, identifying risks, and improving billing conversion Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and project performance insights Managing receivables and supporting collections conversations Strengthening financial controls and month-end accuracy Identifying and driving improvements in systems, reporting, and workflows Ready to throw your name in? Who will thrive in this role Youll do well here if you: Think commercially, not just transactionally You understand how billing, WIP, and project decisions impact margins and you act on it. Like being close to the action You enjoy working directly with Project Managers, translating financial data into something useful and usable. Are comfortable in complexity Multiple projects, competing priorities, imperfect information, you can navigate it without getting stuck. Balance service with backbone Youre collaborative and responsive, but youre also willing to push back when something doesnt make sense. Take ownership naturally You dont wait to be told if something looks off, you dig in and fix it. Enjoy improving how things work You see inefficiencies in billing, reporting, or systems and you do something about them. This is a role for someone who wants to expand their impact, not just execute tasks. Your application should show us 5+ years in project accounting, project finance, or professional services Strong understanding of billing models (T&M, lump sum, milestones) Experience working across multiple projects and stakeholders Confidence working with operational leaders (not just finance) Solid systems capability (ERP experience; BST is a strong asset) Advanced Excel skills CPA (or progress toward it) is an asset but not required.
