Vacancy Title: GC-MS Analyst or Chemistry Graduate Location: Newmarket Contract Type: Permanent Salary: 25,200 29,000 per annum Start Date: 2026-03-23 Overview Our Client, a global testing organisation, is looking to recruit a number of Analysts to work at their environmental testing division. We are looking to speak to Chemistry (or MChem or Forensic Chemistry with chromatography experience in degree) graduates or experienced Analysts (GC-MS, ICP, HPLC, LCMS etc). Multiple levels available through growth. Responsibilities Perform routine & nonroutine analysis (GCMS, GCFID, HPLC) of samples in accordance with documented procedures (or ICP depending on the lab). Troubleshoot GC/HPLC instrumentation (column changes, etc). Assist in the generation of accurate and timely sample and QC data in line with client expectations and the clients QMS. Maintain ISO17025 accreditation by following strict testing guidelines. Meet deadlines and exercise commercial awareness in terms of workload and prioritising. Assist in maintenance programmes for the departments analytical instrumentation and other equipment. Ensure instruments are kept clean, serviceable and routine inhouse maintenance procedures are uptodate. Maintain, store and label adequate stocks of reagents and standards. Consult with the Divisional Manager when turnaround deadlines cannot be met. Qualifications Hold a degree in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally Chemistry. Have exposure to HPLC, GC/MS or ICP in your degree or experience in a UKAS17025 (or similar highthroughput) setting. Strong interpersonal skills and IT literacy.
