This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta and requires daytime, evening and weekend work. Reporting to the Director of Communications & Programs, this contract role has key events dates in May, June, October and December. The Event Specialist Role To connect single mothers and lead events that help bring families together. Lead event planning from start to finish, including creative concepts, execution and teardown. Creation, planning and execution of Kaleo special events, partnership events, volunteer events and signature initiatives (Love You Mama and Little Santas). As needed, book venues, speakers, guests, childcare support and activities. Coordinate and oversee each event with the ability to quickly solve problems while serving our families and sponsors. Provide all pre and post event budgeting and reporting to ensure were meeting goals and being good stewards of Kaleo resources. Collaborate on social media strategies and content to promote events. Provide regular reporting on metrics with recommendations. Make every person who walks through our doors feel welcome, accepted and valued. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Qualifications Related post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Superior relationship building skills.
