Audio/Video Production Team members support summer programming and other cooperative programs and initiatives. We have our own welloutfitted production studio in Barrie, as well as partnerships with facilities in other communities. These roles are progressive over the summer, and youth are afforded as much scope and responsibility as they are willing and able to handle. It is a great way to improve and grow within a team setting where you get handson opportunities for experience. Some participants will be offered additional opportunities through job shadowing, or training placements with industry professionals who are willing to mentor a youth in the industry. Fulltime summer employment contracts range from 8 to 16 weeks, May through September. Postsecondary students are welcomed and encouraged to apply for this position as part of their program requirements for a coop or work placement. Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada and offered at the Ontario minimum wage. Please be aware that not all positions may be funded at all locations. Some roles may follow a hybrid work structure where employees work from home or inperson as needed, based on the demands of specific tasks and personal work preferences. Working from the office, studio, or meeting location is encouraged when tasks require a high degree of collaboration. Training and workshops may be online or inperson as required. Positions Audio Engineer/Producer Audio Engineers/Producers focus on audio capture, editing, mixing, producing, and facilitating livestreaming events. They create and edit audio resources for social media, marketing assets, internal and external videos, and educational materials, as well as projects for member artists through our programs. Mix audio for training videos Mix audio for artist performance videos Mix audio for footage from public events Compile recordings of performances and trainings All aspects of audio recording in our livestream studio Mix audio for showcase (live + postproduction) Set up and strike equipment at live performance audio venues Video Director/Producer Video Director/Producers create online video content, focusing on video campaigns, editing live performance videos, creating graphic overlays, and livestreaming music events. Editing training videos Editing artist videos Editing footage from public events Compiling photos and videos for company tutorials Capturing and broadcasting productions from the livestream studio or remote locations as scheduled Planning shots for productions and calling cameras Remote camera operation Video switching Equipment set up and striking Camera Operator Camera Operators assemble, set up, and operate a variety of technical equipment to capture and record all aspects of a production. Studio Assistant Studio Assistants set up and maintain equipment, communicate with artists and industry professionals, and participate in studio takedown and other postrecording duties. AV Technician AV Technicians manage the equipment and physical spaces used to record, mix, and edit sound, music, and videos for recordings and live events. They support the creation of audio/video resources for social media, marketing assets, and educational materials. They also set up and take down equipment, repair gear on site, or arrange for repairs as needed. Videographer Videographers operate video cameras, on location or in the studio, in the production of professional live and prerecorded programming. They clean and maintain recording equipment, understand briefs, produce creatively, and stay uptodate with industry trends and tools that make projects marketable. They may also use mobile devices to capture assets quickly in the field. Video Editor Video Editors edit artist performance videos, online workshops, and training videos, as well as footage from public events for ondemand playback.
