Accessibility and Learning Strategies Specialist Reporting to the Manager, Office of Accessibility and Academic Accommodations, you will support students with ADHD and other protected human rights needs by delivering individualized learning strategies support, coordinating academic accommodations, and connecting students to appropriate campus resourcesensuring equitable access to academic programs across Yorkville Universitys national campuses. Responsibilities Provide student support and learning strategies. Apply individualized learning strategies tailored to students strengths, learning styles, and academic challenges. Provide oneonone support, including executive functioning coaching related to time management, organization, and study skills. Work with students from across Canada and support a diverse caseload with varying academic and accessibility needs. Coordinate accommodations and accessibility support. Review psychoeducational assessment reports, develop individualized academic accommodation plans, and coordinate the implementation of accommodations, including assistive technologies, extended exam or assignment times, and accessible materials. Maintain accurate and confidential records of accommodation requests, approvals, implementation, and student progress. Collaborate with faculty and staff. Work closely with faculty, program heads, and staff to support accessible learning practices and effective learning strategies for diverse learners. Develop and deliver workshops, training materials, and resources that promote accessibility awareness and inclusive teaching practices. Monitor and improve accessibility services. Assess the effectiveness of learning strategies and accommodation supports, adjusting approaches as needed to improve student outcomes. Maintain uptodate resources related to accessibility and accommodations and advocate for inclusive practices that support student success across the academic community. Qualifications The education and experience. Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, or a related field. A Master of Education, Bachelor of Education, or related background with training or certification in learning strategies is an asset. Experience applying learning strategies and supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges within a secondary or postsecondary education environment. The knowledge. Familiarity with learning strategies, Canadian disability legislation, accessibility regulations, assistive technology, and postsecondary accommodation processes. Understanding how assistive technologies and accessibility tools support diverse learners in both inperson and hybrid learning environments. The analytical and technical skills. Organized and detailoriented, able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. Comfortable using assistive technologies, learning platforms, and digital tools that support accessibility, and stay current with emerging technologies that enhance access and inclusion. The interpersonal skills. Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and flexibility, adapting your approach to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. Build trusted relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and commit to fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments that support student success. The adaptability. Comfortable working occasional flexible hours when required to support students and campus initiatives. Compensation This position offers an annual salary ranging from $60,000, a midpoint of $63,000, and a maximum of $65,000. Established hires typically start near the midpoint, while the upper range is reserved for those with deep expertise and sustained contributions. Offers below the midpoint recognize strong potential with room to grow.
