Maintenance Technician/Driver Thrive Group is looking for a parttime Maintenance Technician/Driver to join our team! By bringing together likeminded organizations, Thrive Group is responsible for the operation of four member organizations: St. Peters Residence at Chedoke AbleLiving Services Capability Support Services Idlewyld Manor Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Director, this position is responsible for safely transporting residents and clients in agency owned vehicle and for performing routine daily maintenance and repairs and mechanical systems, parking lots, outdoor common areas and grounds in order to provide clean, safe, comfortable and functional environments for customers and staff. The position will maintain equipment, building components, furnishings and fixtures and perform preventative maintenance as necessary. This position involves evening and weekend work. Employment Guide High school graduation is essential for this position. A valid F class Drivers license, proof of three years driving experience and a clean drivers abstract are requirements for this position. Certification in a skilled trade, certified building operator or maintenance mechanic an asset. Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, MTO Drivers Handbook and have, or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification. Ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks using hand tools and power equipment. Previous experience of maintenance work would be an asset. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, problem solve and work independently and as part of a multiservice delivery team. Must be able to relate well with people, particularly seniors and people with disabilities and have a passion for excellence in customer service. Must be physically fit and able to work for extended periods in adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs assisted. This position is required to work evenings and weekends.
