Responsibilities Respond to calls dispatched from MTO with urgency, complete collision incident reports and liaise with the supervisor and MTO as needed Provide traffic control at the accident scene. Set up and take down traffic signs Respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather and assist in implementing an emergency plan as needed Communicate with authorities at emergency scenes Police, Firefighters, etc. and liaise with MTO to assess the need for additional resources Conduct daily circle checks on vehicles. Clean and maintain the vehicle and perform minor repairs Maintain accurate documentation - hours of service, fuel records, incident reports, time sheets, logs etc. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Class D commercial license with air brake endorsement (Z) Highway maintenance experience is considered an asset Emergency response experience is considered an asset Knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7 is considered an asset Willingness to learn and execute Miller Values - Safety, Quality and Integrity so we can continue to Building Greatness Customer service oriented to effectively communicate with various stake holders (MTO, general public) and attend to their concerns with utmost sense of urgency Excellent team player to work productively in a highly functional team Flexibility and organizational skills to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities Problem solving skills and decision-making skills Basic computer skills to navigate weather, equipment data, Miller and MTO work sites Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities, collision incident reports, etc Willingness to work assigned day, night and weekend shifts Ability to lift heavy weights (up to 50 pounds) Comfortable with working and driving in inclement weather conditions Compensation Targeting $29-32/hr Miller is an equal opportunity employer.
