Job Description

Title: Equity Research Associate, Oil & Gas - Calgary Requisition ID: 258991 This is a fulltime position based in Calgary. What You''ll Do: Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain financial models Conduct indepth industry analysis and research using industry and financial sources Collect, consolidate and interpret company and industry data Assist in writing research publications, including morning commentary, company and industry reports, and themebased research reports Follow overall market news and evaluate market data to assess short and longterm trends Prepare PowerPoint presentations for meetings with internal and external clients Communicate and handle inquiries from institutional investors Develop and maintain connections with investor relations and management of companies under coverage group Liaise with sales, trading and other areas of the firm within regulatory guidelines What You''ll Bring: A university degree in business, economics, engineering, geology, or geophysics is preferred A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, MBA, Masters of Finance degree, or enrolment in/completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program would be an asset Work experience in a financial, engineering, analytical, corporate development or M&A capacity in the oil & gas sector would be an asset Strong accounting, financial modeling, graphing, and analytical skills Excellent command of Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint Experience using mapping software such as GeoScout, as well as Bloomberg and FactSet, would be an asset Knowledge of natural gas markets would be an asset Familiarity with VBA, Python, or other programming languages would be an asset Experience in analyzing financial statements and valuing companies Capital Markets knowledge/experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Good business judgment and decisionmaking skills Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work A high level of energy and a keen desire to learn Work Arrangement This position is currently a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work 4 days a week in the office.
