General Description of Duties The Indigenous Camp Leader will work closely with Indigenous Student Support staff to deliver a four-week summer camp for elementaryaged students. This role is ideal for an adult who identifies as Indigenous or has lived and/or gained work experience in supporting and improving outcomes for First Nation, Mtis or Inuit students and families across the system. The leader will help plan, prepare, and lead daily activities at a local school site, including cultural programming, outdoor activities, crafts, games, and communitybuilding experiences. Key Responsibilities Support the planning and preparation of daily camp activities and materials. Lead, colead, and supervise activities for elementaryaged campers. Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally supportive environment. Model leadership, professionalism, and excitement for learning. Collaborate with Indigenous Student Support staff to deliver programming. Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and transitions. Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff, families, and campers. Maintain punctuality and reliability throughout the program. Minimum Requirements Preference for candidates who identify as Indigenous. Experience working with children or youth in educational, cultural, or recreational settings. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Friendly, professional, and dependable. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Must have reliable transportation to and from the camp site. Desired Assets Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, languages, traditions, or landbased learning. Experience in camp leadership, teaching, coaching, or community programming. Salary and Hours Salary Range: PASS Level 5, $79,678.4193,741.38 per year (prorated based on time worked).
