Job Summary The Chemist Analytical QC QS4 carries out work related to quality control, stability, method transfer, validation, and standard studies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. This position is available for a rotational shift. Job Responsibilities Develop and demonstrate a basic understanding of testmethods, SOPs, compendia and Certificates of Analysis. Perform proper labelling, inspection, and sampling of finished products, intermediates, raw materials, and recovered materials to ensure conformity with established standards. Test raw materials, intermediates, finished products, R&D samples, environmental samples, and perform physical and chemical testing of assigned packaging components according to established test methods and SOPs. Report all testing results and deviations, and utilize basic analytical knowledge to carry out assigned investigation activities. Document analytical data, selfreview for accuracy and completeness, and maintain records of retention, stability, and standard samples. Ensure proper storage of samples. Release finished products, intermediates, raw materials, and recovered materials upon approval by department management. Report instrument or method problems to the Supervisor/Manager promptly. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workplace. Identify and procure necessary chemicals, gases, standards, glassware, and other accessories. Calibrate laboratory equipment according to the departments calibration program and report any deviations. Liaise with lab personnel and other departments to learn equipment use and to understand regulatory practices. Demonstrate personal leadership and continuous professional development, seeking performance input from peers, senior team members, and supervisors. Perform any other relevant duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education: Minimum B.Sc. in Chemistry or an equivalent area of study. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Familiar with cGMP and USP, BP, EP, and ECH guidelines and procedures. Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting instruments such as GC, HPLC, UV, and IR. Knowledge of wet analytical chemical techniques. Ability to follow SOPs and conduct work safely in a laboratory environment. Documentation is neat, concise, and reviewed for accuracy. Experience with shift rotation and/or oncall scheduling. Proficiency with Windows, MS Office, Chemstore/Chemstation or similar software. Experience: Preferable 12 years of experience in a related field of chemistry. Benefits The hiring range for this position is $42,425 $56,567 CAD per year. The final agreedupon salary may vary based on factors such as jobrelated knowledge, skills, and experience.
