Performing standardization, extrapolation, reconciliation, and validation on various data collected. Managing data from a variety of sources, such as decommissioning, waste management, environmental remediation, and legacy liability. Importing data into waste databases. Reviewing the available information sources and data, identifying issues or gaps, and recommending potential improvements. Providing ongoing support for databases and models required to manage and maintain the data. Responding to customer requests for waste service information. Populating waste data reports to provide performance metrics on volumes, shipments generated and dispositions offsite. Supporting inspections of waste storage facilities. Carrying out waste management quality assurance activities, including the implementation of a formal Waste Certification process. Other duties as assigned by your manager. What We Are Looking For Education Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology, or equivalent formal education, and a minimum of two years pertinent technological experience or Secondary School Honour Graduation or its equivalent, with a minimum of six years relevant experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training. Or Postsecondary education (University degree BSc) or College Diploma in a scientific field, or equivalent knowledge earned through a combination of education and relevant experience in the field of radioactive waste characterization. Experience Familiarity with computer application programs (MS Office, Adobe or equivalent PDF editor). Work experience in data management related to areas such as decommissioning, waste management, or environmental management is an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good verbal and technical writing skills, as well as communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated customer focus. Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize data from numerous information sources. Comprehend diverse user information requirements and analyze them. Work independently or in a team environment. Knowledge and superior communication and writing skills are necessary to provide updates, reports, manuals and documentation to a broad range of users. Ability/desire to perform field activities in all environmental conditions. Computer literacy, including the use/customisation of spreadsheets, databases and word processing software. Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines, with an ability to manage and prioritise a workload that involves several different projects. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 35 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. Working Conditions This position is part of the Whiteshell Technical Employees Group and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the WTEG Collective Agreement. Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
