Job Summary Reporting to the Director, Cancer Program and Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program (ESC RCP), the Manager, Regional Programs and Psychosocial Oncology is responsible for the organization and leadership of all aspects within their operational and regional area. This includes patient care delivery, operational planning, human resource development, financial management, quality improvement, education and research. The incumbent will oversee timely response, processes related to patient, family or caregiver issues and ensure compliance with both required organizational practices, and reporting associated with Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario). As part of this role, the Manager will facilitate the integration of best practice on a local and regional level, optimize collaboration and minimize risks and issues. The Manager will foster partnership development with regional stakeholders to support projects that have broad impact across the ESC RCP and collaborating institutions that align with the ESC Regional Strategic Plan, and Cancer Care Ontarios (CCO) Ontario Cancer Plan. Additional Responsibilities Additionally, the Manager, Regional Programs and Psychosocial Oncology is responsible for the following: Regional Programs Leading the development and implementation of work/project plans and deliverables in partnership with the Clinical Leads and in alignment with Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario); Liaise with internal and external partners at the facility, regional, and provincial levels to ensure the successful completion of deliverables and act as a regional resource for partnering sites; Oversight and delivery of the Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences; Participate and lead regional working groups/committees to support project governance and the achievement of project deliverables; Monitor and report on progress, problems and strategies of improvement initiatives to all stakeholders and elevate issues as appropriate; Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resources and provincial requirements are met and understood; and Participate in the creation and delivery of innovative presentations and proposals to all levels of the Regional Cancer Program Patient Centered Care Leadership of the regional Patient Education portfolio to ensure patient education needs across the program and region are assessed and met; Developing and implementing initiatives and programs to enhance the patient experience/patient education both locally and regionally; Oversight for the Psychosocial Oncology (PSO) program at the Cancer Program, including the Social Worker and Dietitian teams; and Serve as the Cancer Care Ontario Lead for PSO, Patient Centered Care (PCC), Ontario Cancer Symptom Management Collaborative (OCSMC) and responsible for the development and implementation of associated work plans. Quality Improvement Support operational and strategic data, analytic and reporting requirements in alignment with organizational and provincial requirements; Make recommendations regarding relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for programs/initiatives as required; and Managing ongoing performance with all relevant stakeholders. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Cancer Program experience an asset. Masters in a health related discipline preferred. 3-5 years supervisory or management experience required. Program and project management skills including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation. Knowledge of the regional health care system and cancer planning and performance. Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs of senior leaders Demonstrated effectiveness at leading and working with large/complex teams Effective interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet timelines and accomplish goals Must be able to work flexible hours Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
