The iGaming Team supports the Regulatory Transformation, Compliance, and Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Policy (RTCGLCP) Division in Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction through the design and development of legislative and strategic policy frameworks supporting Alberta''s online gaming (iGaming) model. The team ensures legislation and policy align with ministry and government priorities. This policy development work impacts multiple ministries, stakeholders and Albertans, with broad social and economic outcomes. Reporting to the Director, as the Manager, Strategic Policy and Social Responsibility, you will be responsible for policy development and providing expert advice to senior and executive leadership, the Deputy Minister, and Minister on matters relating to Albertas online gambling (iGaming) Strategy. As the Manager, you will be required to provide recommendations and advice to executive management, identify risks and mitigating solutions, alongside the development of any required material (briefing notes, presentations, policy documents, etc). The materials developed will be used to facilitate the policy decision-making process of executive leadership so they can make evidence-based decisions relating to Albertas iGaming Strategy. As the Manager, Strategic Policy and Social Responsibility, you will play an integral role in stakeholder engagement ensuring regular and effective communication with stakeholders to inform them on the progress towards implementing Alberta iGaming Strategy and gather their input. iGaming policy development work impacts multiple ministries and agencies and the manager will lead crossministry and crossagency engagement in addition to external stakeholder management. iGaming policy - and stakeholder engagement on this issue - is complex, requiring a high degree of political acumen and judgment. Role Responsibilities (contd.) In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing materials to support engagement with iGaming and landbased industry, First Nations, charitable organisations, and other external stakeholders and partners addressing their questions and concerns, and using the input received to inform iGaming policy development. As the manager, you will also work with a variety of government departments to identify and assess crossministry implications of key policies. You will be required to develop strong working relationships with crossministry partners to meet the initiative/project objectives and work with staff across government to ensure the effective development of required materials. You will work closely with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis and the newly established Alberta iGaming Corporation to coordinate a unified approach to iGaming policy development across government and its agencies. As the Manager, you will provide leadership and daytoday management of assigned initiatives and projects related to the development and implementation of Albertas iGaming Strategy and will ensure that the policy underpinning the strategy aligns with government priorities. Most of these initiatives and projects have a complex nature and are likely to require creation of project proposals, action plans, reports, and presentations. Experience or knowledge that will be considered and asset: Experience in policy development and analysis, including the preparation of briefing materials. Experience managing in a diverse and complex environment with professional staff. Understanding of government policy development and decisionmaking processes. Experience in or knowledge of the gaming (online and landbased) industries (including horse racing). Experience in project management, including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communications, procurement, and stakeholder management.
