Adult Learning Faculty - Science, Math, Career Skills Fulltime, 2026, Akerley Campus, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Competition No. 2627-011. Salary steps 1-9 ($74,170.79 $102,223.12). Commencing approximately August 17, 2026. Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Paid Time Off Retirement Plans Pension Plan Life Insurance Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Wellness Programs Responsibilities Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Adult Learning program in Science, Math and Career Skills. Deliver both inperson daytime and synchronous online evening sessions. Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including assessment and evaluation using flexible teaching practices and technologies such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace) and classroom technology. Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in classroom, shops and labs. Maintain currency with latest industry practices relevant to the program and continuously develop understanding of 21century teaching and learning practices. This position may involve various delivery modalities, offsite instruction and alternate work hours (weekends and evenings). Perform related duties including academic and career advisement, committee participation, program marketing, curriculum revision/development through collaborative practice within faculty working groups, support and monitoring of work placements, liaising with business and industry, representing the College as required and upholding NSCC policies and procedures. Qualifications and Occupational Experience Bachelor of Education and/or a relevant university degree in Math, or the Sciences (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering), or related field to the subjects to be taught. Minimum five years (fulltime equivalent) of recent teaching experience at the high school or postsecondary level. Experience in a team teaching environment and strong record of working collaboratively. Experience in curriculum and resource development. Previous experience teaching online and/or using elearning technology in a blended format is an asset. Strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning is considered an asset. Comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, EMail and Learning Management Systems. Comfortable working in a digital environment; committed to using technology to support an exceptional student experience; skilled with multimedia technologies and platforms that engage students in online and blended learning. Ideally, experience in delivery of educational programs or training to adults. Experience in providing performance feedback is an asset. Knowledge and experience in WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety and occupationspecific safety practices. Ability to teach effectively in an online/blended environment, building bestpractice knowledge, using course management system to communicate with students and fostering a collaborative online learning community.
