Position Overview The Corporate Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative, coordination and legal support to inhouse counsel. The role will support corporate governance, contract and term review, compliance and researching current regulations. The ideal incumbent should enjoy drafting and editing contracts/terms, demonstrating a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality and crossfunctional collaboration with several departments. Responsibilities Support the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents, including contracts of purchase and sale, NDAs, supply agreements, amendments, waivers and termination notices. Maintain records, documentation and negotiation markup and changes. Assist with contract intake, tracking, execution, and communication with clients. Responsible for detailing out areas within contracts and terms and conditions that do not align with Albarries corporate strategy and/or create risk for the company and highlight these to the Corporate Contract Specialist. Responsible for participating in Albarries electronic document control system to manage and evaluate all contract activities, as they progress. Review an outline potential legalities around Confidentiality and NonDisclosure Agreements, for final approval by a Senior Manager. Proofread, edit, and factcheck legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by client. Qualifications Diploma in Legal Administration, Law Clerk and/or Paralegal Studies obtained in Ontario or another commonlaw jurisdiction in Canada. 3 years of experience supporting an inhouse legal team or law firm. Familiarity with contract law and construction law, is an asset. Knowledge of corporate governance and contract types and structure. Experience drafting, reviewing, editing and managing agreements and other legal documentation. Strong computer skills.
