Our team-oriented, no-drama culture creates a positive and engaging workplace where individuals can grow and succeed.Position OverviewThe Quality & BIM Manager is responsible for leading the firms quality assurance processes and BIM strategy, with a strong focus on Autodesk Revit-based production and Newforma-driven project information management.This role is hands-on in managing and improving the production of architectural and engineering drawing packages, ensuring consistency, coordination, and compliance across multiple concurrent projects. The position also drives standards, workflows, and team performance to support efficient, high-quality project delivery. Responsibilities:Quality Management & ComplianceDevelop, implement, and maintain the firms Quality Management System aligned with BIM workflows. Establish and enforce Revit-based documentation standards, including templates, view standards, annotation styles, and sheet composition. Perform detailed quality reviews of drawing packages at all project phases (SD, DD, CD). Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code, AODA, and municipal submission requirements. Track and reduce deficiencies, RFIs, and coordination issues. BIM Leadership (Revit-Centric)Lead firm-wide BIM strategy with Revit as the primary authoring platform. Develop and maintain Revit templates, families, and content libraries. Establish BIM standards, modeling protocols, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs). Monitor model health, including file performance, audits, and data integrity. Support interdisciplinary coordination including clash detection workflows (e.g., Navisworks). Drive consistency in model structure across teams and projects. Newforma Project Information ManagementAdminister and optimize Newforma Project Center for project communication and documentation. Establish standards for email filing, correspondence tracking, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and document control. Ensure alignment between Revit models/drawings and Newforma-managed documentation. Train staff to improve accountability and traceability. Monitor workflows to reduce risk and improve coordination. Drawing Production ManagementOversee production of drawing sets using Revit across multiple projects. Coordinate with Project Managers on resourcing, schedules, and deliverables. Ensure drawing packages are coordinated, code-compliant, and constructible. Review and approve drawing sets prior to client, permit, and tender submission. Identify production bottlenecks and implement workflow improvements. Team Leadership & TrainingMentor staff in advanced Revit modeling, documentation, and best practices. Provide structured training on Revit standards and Newforma protocols. Support teams in resolving complex modeling and detailing challenges. Lead onboarding into BIM and quality systems. Technology & Process OptimizationEvaluate and implement improvements in BIM and information management workflows. Collaborate with IT on software updates, file storage, and model-sharing environments (e.g., BIM 360 / ACC). Explore automation opportunities such as Dynamo scripting and template enhancements. Improve integration between Revit production and Newforma systems. Required Skills:Advanced expertise in Autodesk Revit. Strong working knowledge of Newforma Project Center. Experience managing drawing production in a Revit-based environment. Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code and construction documentation standards. Ability to coordinate across disciplines and manage multiple concurrent projects. Strong communication, leadership, and team mentorship abilities. High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy. Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Assets:Experience with Navisworks or similar coordination tools. Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar collaboration platforms. Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Dynamo). LEED or sustainability accreditation. Qualifications:Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in architectural production. 35 years in a BIM leadership or quality-focused role. Proven experience managing drawing production and team workflows. Preferred Credentials:Registered Architect (OAA) or eligibility for registration. BIM certification (e.g., buildingSMART or similar). Performance Expectations:Consistent compliance with BIM and quality standards. Reduction in drawing errors, RFIs, and coordination conflicts. Improved efficiency in Revit-based production workflows. Increased staff proficiency in BIM and documentation standards. Successful adoption of Newforma standards across teams.
