Job Description Summary The Senior Project Director will report directly to the Advanced Nuclear SMR execution leader, Europe. The Project Director is responsible for planning and executing very large contracts for the design and construction of new nuclear power plants, including managing the quality, cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder engagement of the entire execution process. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Be responsible for on-time project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources Manage all commercial aspects of the project portfolio Ensure performance against all financial metrics Organize project cost structure in Oracle ERP Lead customer, internal, and/or supplier project kickoff meetings. Accountable for overall project management strategy; interfaces & cooperates with all project management functions within the PMO Accountable for development and issuance of the Project Management Plan & related project plans and project procedures; promotes the implementation of project plans and project procedures across the larger project team Recommend and implement improvements in project management processes and procedures Lead the development and deployment of project infrastructure and project tools Identify and communicate project resources demands and coordinate resource supply within a matrix organization, particularly with Engineering Support coordination of all activities related to the project; monitor and control progress on project deliverables Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements; supports the resolution of technical and quality issues during execution of the work scope Ensure that all project operations are carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures and any applicable customer and statutory requirements Coordinate & chair regular project meetings with customer teams, internal team, and/or supplier teams; prepare supporting materials for such project meetings Leverage internal work force planning tools in P6 ERP Prepare and organize project correspondence, coordinating response drafts, approving, and issuing final letters consistent with project communication plan; ensures adequate communication to all project stakeholders Support risk assessment and risk management program Required Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university Minimum 10 years of project management experience on large power EPC projects (design, construction, commissioning, or operations) Minimum of 5 years Power Plant Design Experience Minimum5 years of nuclear industry experience 25% travel Eligibility Requirements The work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) location in Markham, ON, Canada. (Relocation assistance provided) This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. government. Desired Characteristics Master''s degree in engineering or Master of Business Administration PMP certification Experience or familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) and Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs Scheduling software experience (Project, P3, P6, etc.) Project Management Leadership Program Knowledge of the power industry, customer, and competitive environment Demonstrated professional interpersonal and leadership skills, including high level of motivation, integrity, and self-confidence Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities concurrently Extreme attention to detail, follow up, highly organized Demonstrated ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Strong process orientation in approach to work Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Six Sigma Training (BB, DFSS, etc.) (GE Employees only) GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
