This is a rare opportunity to be the architect of their infrastructure-as-code strategy, DevOps culture, and site reliability practices from the ground up.You'll work directly with leadership to shape technical direction while building systems that power predictive analytics for global energy markets.If you thrive on autonomy, love solving hard infrastructure problems, and want your work to directly impact how the energy industry operates, this role offers the creative freedom and technical challenge you're looking for.What You'll Build:Infrastructure as Code & AutomationDesign and implement our IaC strategy using Terraform, establishing patterns that become company standardsBuild self-service infrastructure platforms that empower development teamsAutomate everything: from provisioning to monitoring to incident responseCloud Architecture & Platform EngineeringArchitect scalable, cost-efficient Azure solutions (AWS/GCP experience valued)Design and deploy containerized applications using Docker and KubernetesDevelop internal platforms that eliminate friction and accelerate deliverySite Reliability & DevOpsEstablish SRE practices including SLOs, error budgets, and blameless postmortemsDesign and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines enabling continuous deliveryImplement observability solutions (DataDog, Grafana, Splunk) for proactive issue detectionCollaborate with on-call rotations to support critical systemsMentor applications and data science teams to improve observability and monitoring practicesDeveloper ExperienceCreate tools and workflows that boost developer productivityBuild 'paved paths' for common infrastructure patternsChampion automation and eliminate operational toilYour Qualifications:Must Have:5-7+ years of infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience with proven impactDeep expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform strongly preferred)Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also valuable)Hands-on proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platformsProficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go)Strong knowledge of networking, security best practices, and system administrationExperience with secrets management solutions (HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)Proven track record of improving system reliability, availability, and performanceHighly Valued:Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service toolingBackground in SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, incident managementKnowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Familiarity with GitOps workflows and tooling (ArgoCD, Flux)Experience with time-series databases and high-performance data systemsUnderstanding of security and compliance automationContributions to open-source infrastructure projectsKey Competencies & Attributes:Systems Thinking: You see the big picture and understand systems interactionAutomation Mindset: If you've done it twice, you automate itOwnership: You take pride in building reliable, maintainable systemsPragmatism: You balance perfection with shipping and iterate based on feedbackCommunication: You translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiencesCollaboration: You thrive working across teams and mentoring othersContinuous Learning: You stay current with evolving infrastructure practicesOwnership & Impact: You take initiative, shape engineering culture, and influence infrastructure practices from day oneChallenging Problems: you thrive on complex, high-stakes challenges such as real-time data systems, predictive analytics pipelines, and energy-market dynamicsHow to Apply:This is your opportunity to build something from the ground up in the rapidly evolving energy sector.
