Job Title: Production Supervisor On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: On-site Location: Medicine Hat, Alberta Job Type: Permanent Salary: TBD The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations in our production facility while leading a team of production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role is accountable for meeting production targets, maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards, and fostering high-performance, engaged workforce. The Production Supervisor will oversee and participate in the manufacture, repair, acceptance testing and certification of the assemblies and sub-assemblies that support uncrewed vehicle systems and associated equipment. Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of production employees, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals. Lead all aspects of employee lifecycle management including hiring support, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding. Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members. Manage attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs. Collaborate with the Production Planner to develop and execute achievable production schedules aligned with customer requirements and capacity. Monitor production progress, address bottlenecks, and adjust schedules or resources to meet deadlines and changing priorities. Ensure workforce allocation is optimized to meet production demands while maintaining efficiency and cost control. This includes labour cost management, scrap& rework costs as well as overtime approvals. Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available to support production schedules. Partner with Production Engineering to develop, review, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and test procedures. Work closely with Quality Assurance to investigate non-conformances (NCRs), implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive root cause analysis. Build upon and maintain the competency and skills matrix for production employees; ensure assessments are completed and documented. Identify skill gaps and coordinate training, cross-training, and development plans to enhance workforce capability and flexibility. Promote adherence to all safety protocols, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and company policies. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment that promotes engagement, accountability, and teamwork. Promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing production efficiency, reducing waste, and improving product quality. Prepare and present regular production reports for management, outlining key performance indicators (KPIs), production goals, and areas for improvement. Ensure production employees receive regular performance feedback through ongoing coaching, structured midyear checkins, and formal annual performance reviews, maintaining clear documentation and alignment with organizational performance management processes. Requirements: Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field, military programs, or equivalent relevant experience. 35+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Mechanical/electrical subsystems Solid troubleshooting abilities and techniques An understanding of Project Management Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an asset. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools. Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada. Ability to obtain a Canadian Class 2 Security clearance. Must have a clean background history and obtain criminal record check. Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and safety regulations. Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, and team development skills. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
