About The Country Day School Founded in 1972, The Country Day School (CDS) is a coeducational, independent, universitypreparatory day school for 830 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Role Overview The Head of School will be a respected educational leader and experienced administrator who aligns with CDSs philosophy of Education with Balance. They will ensure a seamless and progressive student experience across JK12, mentor and develop staff and faculty, and encourage students to reach their best. A deep commitment to a balanced student experience will guide decisionmaking and strategic direction. The Head will bring strong business acumen and a commercial lens to secure financial sustainability and the schools longterm success. Above all, they will be a relationship builder, connecting deeply with faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and the Board to inspire, support, and empower the community in pursuit of this vision. Responsibilities Align the educational program with the Schools philosophy of Education with Balance. Ensure a developmentally aligned, academically rigorous, and responsive experience for all students. Mentor and develop faculty and staff, fostering a dynamic and healthy school community. Apply business savvy and commercial insight to maintain financial sustainability and portfolio growth. Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersfaculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and Board members. Engage the entire community in shaping a strategic blueprint for the Schools future. Act as a model of integrity, character, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Collaborate with the Board and broader community to advance the Schools mission and success. Qualifications Master of Education and a Business Degree. Extensive experience in educational leadership and administration. Proven track record of fostering dynamic, healthy school communities. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking. Excellent interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills. Commitment to the core values of balance and community engagement.
