About the Role: As the building Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair for multiple residential rental properties in the Kitchener Breslau and Stratford areas. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the incumbent completes general carpentry and electrical repair and maintenance work as required. You will also perform basic repairs and maintenance on the mechanical operating systems. You will work between these locations as needed and will be provided a monthly car allowance. Key Responsibilities: Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance tasks as required Conduct general carpentry functions Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment while performing duties Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Participate in various aspects of building maintenance requirements, including updates Set priorities for preventive maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work Maintain adequate supplies for the maintenance department Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required Perform regular workplace inspections to determine areas that need maintenance or repair Ensure that any required maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventive maintenance program and departmental procedures Repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security Troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment Initiate safety concerns and makes judgment on the best methods of completing tasks Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the various mechanical operating systems found at Equiton Partners Inc, including furnace systems, air conditioning systems, etc. Replace broken windows, repair doors, door locks and closets, install/replace window blinds, etc. Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures What You Bring: Valid drivers license and vehicle. Must be able to schedule and prioritize work for self. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities. Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility. Able to work well under pressure. Strong attention to detail. High school diploma. Minimum 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings.
