Heavy Equipment Mechanic Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A) Location : Office/yard in Hamilton, ON and project sites throughout the province. About the role: Reporting to the National Equipment Director, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic (also known as Heavy Duty Equipment Technician) will maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of specialized foundation equipment supporting projects across Ontario. Our projects utilize proprietary and highly specialized equipment, including: BAUER rotary drilling rigs Hydraulic cranes Diaphragm wall clamshells (hydraulic and cable-operated) Grout plants, mixers, and high-pressure pumps Hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled monitoring systems These machines operate in demanding construction environments and require disciplined preventative maintenance and responsive field repairs. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on heavy foundation equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using advanced troubleshooting methods Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical schematics Support field crews with on-site repairs and technical guidance Maintain accurate service records and parts tracking Collaborate with operations and project teams to minimize downtime Travel to job sites across Ontario as required Qualifications: Valid Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal (421A) certification Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction or foundation equipment (BAUER preferred) Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and onboard diagnostics Ability to work independently in remote and demanding site conditions Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency in English (written and verbal) Valid drivers license and ability to travel What We Offer: Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Ongoing training and development with specialized BAUER equipment A commitment to employment equity and an inclusive workplace
