Position Phlebotomist Part Time Status: Part Time Schedule: Monday to Wednesday 8:00am 1:00pm; Saturday 8:00am 12:00pm (two locations). Travel required. Vehicle access needed. Number of positions: 1 Start Date: ASAP Union: SEIU collective agreement Your Responsibilities Greet patients and request required information, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure compliance with test protocols prior to collection. Perform phlebotomies, connect and disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings. Collect special test specimens such as medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trial samples; complete related documentation. Maintain client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests. Enter patient demographics, requisition data, and other information related to processing test results. Prepare specimens for transportation and testing. Qualifications Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent preferred. Phlebotomy experience is an asset. Good computer skills; minimum typing speed of 40wpm. Strong customer/patient service skills with the ability to relate to patients and clients in stressful situations. Strong empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problemsolving skills. Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
