Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will work with CRAFTs Finance Department and play a critical leadership role in ensuring the financial health, operational integrity and long-term sustainability of CRAFT. The Controller oversees the full cycle of accounting, payroll, treasury, budgeting, internal financial controls, regulatory compliance, as well as budget preparation and financial reporting for the team and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of accounting experience and is excited to be an imperative part of our growth.Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that this individual is a strong leader and will conduct themselves with professionalism and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with others. This position will be based out of our head office in Calgary, Alberta.Who You Are:Proficient collaborator who has a focus on peopleMotivated, energetic, and positive self-starterTeam player, collaborative and attentivePositive, approachable, and charismaticOrganized, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks at onceWhat We Offer:Competitive compensationDynamic work environment that puts people firstMonthly food & beverage budgets and discountsOpportunity to grow your career with a national companyWhat Youll Do:Manage full-cycle accounting, including daily reconciliations, general ledger activity, and vendor communicationsReview biweekly accounts payable transactions for accuracy and completeness, promptly identifying and resolving any discrepanciesLead and process biweekly payroll cycles for Canadian and US locationsPrepare and review consolidated financial statements across Canadian and US locationsSupport period-end and year-end closing processesCoordinate external audits and tax filings in Canada and the US, serving as the primary liaison with auditors, CRA, IRS, and other regulatory authoritiesDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US regulationsSupport budgeting and forecasting, including planning for new openings, cross-border growth, and long-term financial modellingSupervise and mentor junior accounting team membersPerform additional duties and special projects as requiredWhat You've Done:Required: Accounting Degree and CPA designationPreferred: Experience with US accounting regulationsAccounting: 5-7 years experienceIntermediate level of Microsoft Excel proficiencyAbility to work within established deadlines and time constraintsAbility to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailSuperior organizational and time management skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating and supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce that is free of all forms of discrimination.
