Job Description

United States: Remote Scope: Global Canada, United States, Mexico, and China Summary The Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist supports and executes daily international trade compliance activities across a multi-country manufacturing organization, with a primary operational focus on the companys largest facility in Mexico. This role serves as a subject matter expert and key operational resource, ensuring compliance with applicable import and export regulations while maintaining strong internal controls and consistency across regions. This position does not have direct people management responsibility and focuses on handson execution, analysis, and advisory support to internal stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute and support daytoday import and export compliance activities across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and China, with primary focus on Mexico Analyze, research, and assign appropriate tariff classifications (HS/HTS), ECCN (as applicable), and Country of Origin Maintain accurate and uptodate product master and customs data Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of all import/export documentation Identify and support duty mitigation and costreduction opportunities Partner with Procurement and Operations to identify and manage inbound and outbound international shipments Act as a primary point of contact with suppliers, customs brokers, and government authorities, including CBSA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Mexican Aduanas, and applicable Chinese customs agencies Maintain records in accordance with regulatory, audit, and internal compliance requirements Support and monitor the application of Free Trade Agreements, including USMCA/TMEC and other applicable agreements Review and validate Certificates of Origin and related compliance documentation; communicate findings and corrective actions Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly KPI, compliance, and risk reports Develop, document, and maintain trade compliance procedures, manuals, and standard operating practices Support oversight and performance monitoring of customs brokers and thirdparty service providers Provide training, guidance, and advisory support to internal stakeholders on import/export and trade compliance requirements Job Requirements and Skills Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field (preferred) Minimum of 5 years of experience in international trade compliance, customs supply chain management within a multicountry or manufacturing environment Strong handson experience in tariff classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determination Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent professional designation (preferred) Solid understanding of global trade compliance principles and risk management frameworks Working knowledge of customs regulations in Mexico, Canada, the United States, and China Experience working with customs brokers and thirdparty service providers Strong knowledge of Free Trade Agreements and preferential trade programs Experience with warranty returns and related customs considerations Fluency in English and Spanish is required Salary Range Canada $65,000 - $80,000 per annum Equal Opportunity Employer The Company is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination.
