Location Winnipeg, Manitoba Schedule This is a camp-based FIFO role operating on a 15 days on / 13 days off rotation, with 12-hour shifts. Transportation Charter flights are provided from Winnipeg to site - Travel to Winnipeg covered. Introduction Brunel is recruiting a Site Infrastructure Superintendent Civil & Earthworks for a leading mining client on a major greenfield gold project. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee the execution of civil and earthworks scopes across site, including large-scale earthmoving, open pit infrastructure, tailings storage facilities, and site access development. You will be responsible for coordinating contractors, driving field execution, and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules and design requirements in a remote mining environment. Responsibilities Plan, organize, direct, and oversee all aspects of construction activities, ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and technical specifications. Collaborate with the Construction Manager to establish project goals, execution strategies, and safety priorities. Develop and maintain a Project Execution Plan (PEP) and resource-loaded schedules, including critical path analysis and short-term lookahead plans. Oversee civil, earthworks, and site infrastructure construction, including large-scale earthmoving operations. Manage construction of open pit mine infrastructure, tailings storage facilities (TSF) and tailings dams, site roads and access infrastructure, and general site development works. Coordinate and supervise blasting activities, ensuring safe and compliant execution. Lead by example to promote a culture of safety, implementing the companys Safety Program across all site activities. Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, legislative requirements, and site-specific procedures. Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and safety performance evaluations for field staff and subcontractors. Establish effective working relationships with field staff and subcontractors to foster collaboration and high morale. Collaborate with field engineers, estimators, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure construction aligns with drawings, specifications, and owner expectations. Address and resolve design deficiencies, schedule interruptions, geotechnical challenges, and site issues in a timely manner. Administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders to ensure terms and conditions are met, while managing change notices effectively. Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and scope of work. Conduct inspections to verify the quality of workmanship and materials, addressing any deficiencies promptly. Monitor manpower, equipment utilization, and resource allocation to ensure the project meets safety, schedule, and quality objectives. Maintain strong communication with consultants, trades, and internal teams, providing updates on project progress. Lead site meetings to align all stakeholders on project goals, timelines, and responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 8+ years of experience in civil and earthworks construction supervision on large-scale projects (>$100M). Extensive open pit mining experience, with direct exposure to tailings storage facility (TSF) and tailings dam construction considered essential. Proven track record managing large-scale earthworks programs and complex site infrastructure development. Demonstrated experience overseeing and coordinating blasting activities in a construction or mining environment. Solid background in greenfield mining projects and remote site operations. Experience working within EPCM or major project construction environments is strongly preferred. Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods, geotechnical principles, and applicable safety regulations. Demonstrated ability to lead large crews and manage multiple contractors in a fast-paced, high-volume construction environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
