Job Summary Our GDI Ainsworth Calgary office is looking to add a Structured Cabling Technician. The role involves installing and maintaining structured cabling and network infrastructure to support reliable connectivity across customer sites. Responsibilities include conducting site surveys, designing cable pathways, and ensuring all project activities are planned and executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Installation of structured cabling systems, pulling, terminating and testing copper and fiber cabling as per specifications and customer requirements. Installing and splicing OSP fiber cabling. Troubleshooting and testing various network and connectivity related issues. Installation of network equipment and LAN room buildouts. Installation of cable support systems such as cable tray, conduit, and Jhooks. Site surveys to determine project requirements. Design and install cable pathways and support systems (cable trays, cable racks, Jhooks, conduit). Qualifications 3+ years of structured cabling experience. 3+ years of OSP fiber splicing experience. Proficiency in reading and comprehending technical drawings with the ability to carry out the scope of work and provide required deliverables and documentation. Ability to install, terminate, troubleshoot, and test all types of low voltage copper cabling. Ability to install, terminate, troubleshoot, and test fiber optic cabling. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies and safety procedures. Project planning ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget. Excellent customer communication and service skills. Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment. Proficient use of Microsoft Office and computers. Open availability to work nontraditional hours, including emergency service calls on short notice, weekends and afterhours as required. Availability for occasional multinight travel for outoftown work. Valid drivers license. Ability to pass an RCMP background check. Belden, Panduit, AMP certification is a plus.
