We are winning a variety of exciting Transportation projects and are looking for registered Professional Engineers with 4+ years of progressive Transportation experience in Planning/Design that want to grow with us. We are currently filling vacancies in our Calgary, Langley and Saskatoon offices but are open to considering candidates able to work out of any of our local offices. About the Roles Your Immediate Impact as a TRANSPORTATION PLANNER: Build relationships with clients through project delivery, proposal debriefs and presenting at conferences such TAC, ITE and others. Support our project managers to develop proposals for functional planning studies. Lead transportation functional planning study tasks including traffic reviews, concept development, options analysis, geometric design, safety analysis, cost-benefit analysis, cost-estimating, and writing related technical memos and reports. Support our project managers with preparing for meetings, writing minutes, preparing schedules, identifying risks, earned value analysis and invoice reviews. Work with our in-house engagement team to develop public engagement boards and their technical content, present at community association meetings, answer questions at public open houses. Manage smaller sole sourced studies and work towards managing larger competitively secured studies in 3-10 years. Your Immediate Impact as a TRANSPORTATION DESIGNER: Set the stage by leading components of proposals and fee estimates Alongside experienced professionals, influence and strengthen client relationships. Depending on your office location, this may include, among many others, BC/SK Ministry of Transportation and Transit, Translink, City of Calgary, Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors. Mentor and guide junior staff through hands-on, real-time project delivery Contribute to parts of, or the full, project life cycle from proposal development, scoping and budgeting, design, and delivery of transportation projects (e.g. multi-modal corridors, urban roadways, provincial highways, interchanges) Support Project Managers on impactful projects as assistant/deputy PM to manage assigned project components with growing responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget performance Be the Professional-of-Record to showcase the work you will have managed, including recommended plans, technical reports and memos, relevant drawings, and cost estimates. Prepare quantity take-offs, construction cost estimates, and assist in tender documents preparation Support construction through contract administration services including shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, and field reviews Present at conferences and join committees to share your passion of transportation design. The Technical must haves: Professional designation (e.g., PTOE, PTP, RSP, P.Eng. or equivalent, recognized in Canada) and Education (e.g., Planning degree, Civil Engineering degree or Engineering Technology diploma/degree). Previous experience in Project Management and/or have been the transportation lead successfully delivering planning and/or design project phases, technical documents, and / or proposals. Strong documentation practices, including preparation of technical documentation and quality management processes supporting planning studies and / or design reports for which you led overall preparation. Demonstrate experience with mentoring peers and junior professionals. Preferably a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience experience and responsibility working on multidisciplinary transportation projects in Canada Proficiency in and the ability to mentor others in some of the following software: AutoCAD Civil 3D (Including Vehicle Tracking), AutoTURN, TORUS, Softree, Cap-X, Synchro and SIDRA. Depending on your experience level, the base salary range (based on a 40-hour work week) is: $48.00/hour or $99,840/year to $60.00/hour or $124,800/year At ISL, we share an enthusiasm for community infrastructure.
