The Assistant Store Manager is one of the people who makes that happen, day in and day out. About the Role As Assistant Store Manager, you are the operational second-in-command at 1500 Yew Street. You partner closely with the Store Manager to run the store: you own scheduling, inventory, and floor leadership, you coach the team in real time, and you step in as acting leader when the Store Manager is off-site. We are looking for someone who sees what is working, builds on it, and fixes what is not, while keeping the team energised and customers leaving happy. Responsibilities Scheduling Build and publish the weekly schedule against labour budget and forecasted demand Manage swap requests, call-outs, and coverage gaps in the moment Review actual vs. scheduled hours each week and flag variances Own the cycle count cadence and execute it cleanly Investigate variances and escalate patterns, not just reconcile, but understand Keep the stockroom organised and replenishment flowing Run daily team huddles and set the tone for the shift Coach Style Advisors and Baristas in the moment, on customer conversations, product knowledge, and sales technique Handle escalations, returns, and service recovery with composure Open and close the store on a rotation with the Store Manager Acting Store Manager Coverage Step in as store leader when the Store Manager is off-site, on PTO, or focused on network initiatives Act as the first point of escalation for the store team in the Store Manager''s absence Team Development Partner with the Store Manager on performance feedback for the store team Support new hire onboarding for Style Advisors, Baristas, and team members first-week shadowing, SOPs, product knowledge Qualifications 2+ years in a retail supervisory or ASM-equivalent role (lead, key-holder with management responsibility, or current ASM) Direct experience managing a team of 5+ team members: coaching, scheduling, performance Handson experience owning either scheduling, inventory, or both Composure under pressure. You have handled real escalations and turned them around Systems fluency: POS, scheduling software, inventory tools, and the ability to pick up new ones quickly Available to work retail hours, including weekends and peak periods Eligible to work in Canada Preferred Skills You act fast you move when a shift is falling apart, you do not escalate and wait You own it when something went wrong on your watch, you tell us what you did about it You are a team builder you credit your team, and your team credits you You are comfortable in ambiguity you build, not just run You measure yourself by outcomes, not hours Pay range and compensation package Our Assistant Manager base pay ranges from {$52,000 - $78,000/annually, depending on location and level of experience. The rate is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
