Are you passionate about designing, building, and supporting data models and reports for various stakeholders, requiring proficiency with BI tools and experience with data warehousing and SQL? Covenant Health is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer who can transform raw data into actionable insights that support decisionmaking, improve patient outcomes, and streamline operations. We need someone who excels at pulling data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations, and who has a cando spirit and a consultative communication style to inspire and drive datadriven change initiatives. This hybrid position requires remote work with onsite presence in Edmonton. Description Create the underlying structure for data analysis. Design, develop, and deploy scalable dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau. Develop, maintain, and automate strategic and operational reports aligned with enterprise priorities, KPIs, and strategic frameworks (e.g., SMART Goals, OKRs). Apply data quality checks and validation rules to ensure data accuracy and reliability in reporting. Design and implement ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Python to integrate and prepare data from multiple systems (ERP, EMR, HRIS). Collaborate with data scientists and advanced analytics teams to embed predictive models or machine learning outputs into operational dashboards. Engage crossfunctional teams to gather reporting needs and offer BI consultation. Understand data warehousing principles and apply SQL for data manipulation. Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for data models, metrics, and KPIs. Visualize trends and variances in performance indicators related to patient care, resource utilization, workforce performance, financial metrics, and safety outcomes. Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies, including metadata management, access controls, and data stewardship protocols. Ensure secure, accurate, and timely integration of structured and unstructured data sources into the enterprise data warehouse or data lake. Recommend enhancements in BI architecture, new tool adoption, or automation opportunities to improve efficiency and analytical capability. Provide training and coaching to business users to improve adoption of BI tools and promote data literacy across the organization. This position is nonunionized. Minimum 3 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence development. Additional Required Qualifications Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Strong understanding of metadata management and data quality processes. Advanced skills in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Excellent problemsolving, analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Ability to work independently and in crossfunctional teams. Commitment to data ethics, security, and confidentiality standards. Preferred Qualifications Certification in BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate or Fabric Data/Analytics Engineer Associate. Experience with large datasets, relational databases, and dimensional modelling using SQL Server or Oracle, plus ETL workflows. Healthcare data knowledge is an asset.
