Role DetailsAs a logistics leadership volunteer, you will be part of our organizing committees of 10 to 15 volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.DescriptionThe Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada.This years event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.As the volunteer, Volunteer Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for: Working alongside all committee leads determining volunteer requirements for event day. Supporting Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator (if applicable) to determine potential ways to recruit event day volunteers. Leading or working in collaboration with Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator (if applicable) to actively promote the event day volunteer needs within your community. Managing all event volunteers using volunteer portal including confirming role fill rate, confirming volunteers to their registered shift, communicating their confirmed details via email. Managing volunteer check-in for set-up and event day. Overseeing all event day volunteers on event day. Access to a computer is required. Knowledge and/or experience in any of the role responsibilities is considered an asset. Must be 18+ to apply. Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly). Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 6-8 hours per month with increased workload August & September). Must be available over the event weekend (October 3 & October 4)
