The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.Role OverviewAs a member of the Board, you will contribute to the effective and ethical governance of Yee Hong and provide strategic leadership to support the organizations continued growth and impact.Key responsibilities include:Approving the strategic plan and overseeing execution of the annual operating planSupporting CEO evaluation, development, and succession planningEnsuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, person-centred careOverseeing financial sustainability and organizational performanceIdentifying and managing enterprise risks and ensuring appropriate governance controlsTime CommitmentBoard meetings: 6 per year (23 hours per meeting), plus preparation timeCommittee participation: one or two committees meeting at least quarterlyParticipation in an annual Board orientation session and a one-day strategy retreatQualifications and ExperienceWe are seeking candidates who bring:Strong governance experience and demonstrated leadership in complex organizationsSenior executive experience, ideally in multi-site or multi-sector environmentsEffective communication and collaboration skillsExposure to the public sectorparticularly health care, social services, or seniors careis an assetCultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse communitiesAreas of Expertise of InterestCandidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:Primary Competencies:Partnership Development and and Revenue GrowthCybersecurity and information technologyInnovation and digital transformationReal estate development and capital projectsLegal and regulatory, Marketing, communications, and public relationsSafety, quality, and performance managementSecondary Competencies:Education and researchGovernment relationsHuman resources and labour relationsCorporate finance, investment, and financial managementInsurance and risk managementSeniors care continuum (long-term care, seniors housing, community services)Strategic planning and organizational transformationTermBoard members are elected for an initial three-year term, with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of two consecutive terms.Join UsThis is an opportunity to contribute to one of Canadas most respected seniors care organizations and help shape the future of integrated, culturally responsive seniors care.How to Apply Please upload or email to a resume and cover letter of interest.
