About the role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary part-time Donor Centre Associate to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ont team in ON-Windsor . The Collections Operations Ont team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will responsible for performing assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process as defined by standard operating procedures. You will participate in projects/continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the success of the program. You will also act as an ambassador of the program to promote and contribute to a collaborative and customercentric work environment. Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process and take initiative to ensure that donors are engaged, and their needs are met. Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills, you will greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process in an engaging and positive manner. You will apply your experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort, and providing postdonation care and instruction. Your excellent attention to detail will be utilized in ensuring completeness of information in our IT system for products, when completing the labelling process for products, and when preparing products for freezing, centrifuging and shipment to our testing facilities. Drawing on your knowledge or experience in continuous improvement, you will contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team. Desired education and skills Completion of postsecondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/healthrelated fields of study. Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset. Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customerfocused environment. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook are considered assets. Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
