NOTICE OF NON-UNION VACANCY POSITION: Senior Manager of Finance LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre SALARY: $163,248 to $171,841 Reporting to the Executive Superintendent of Business, this senior management position will oversee the daytoday financial operations and reporting functions of the Board. The primary role of this position is to effectively manage and administer the business functions of the Board, including accounting, purchasing, payroll/benefits, revenue, treasury management, capital, budget preparation and financial reporting. The Senior Manager will be expected to provide support to the Executive Superintendent of Business at Board meetings and other venues as required. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, including provincial grant calculations and analysis. Oversee the development of monthly operating and capital interim financial reports and forecasts. Coordinate regional internal audit services and provide Audit Committee support. Oversee the preparation of the audited financial statements, 7Month Consolidation Report and other Ministry reporting. Ensure completion of and compliance with all related Ministry of Education, Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) and legislative reporting requirements, in accordance with Board policies and objectives. Facilitate capitalrelated processes, financing and project reporting. Support Superintendents, departments and key system partners by providing financial advice, consultation and direction. Provide analysis and implications of financial issues as requested, including leading fiscal reviews across the system. Participate as a senior representative of Business on various projects, committees, or meetings as requested by the Executive Superintendent of Business, including attendance at regular meetings of the Board. Maintain a robust system of internal control procedures to safeguard board assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Provide staff mentoring, coaching, supervision and leadership. Identify efficiencies to streamline financial operations, including system modifications and policy, procedure and process improvements. Support School financial functions. Oversee financial system administration, development, implementation and integration. Coordinate the Board''s treasury and cash management functions. Other financial related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required University Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance. Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA). Minimum seven to ten (7 to 10) years of progressively responsible school board, government or business experience, gained through six (6) of more years of supervisory of management level experience. Qualifications as, or willingness to become qualified as a Business Supervisory Officer. Public sector work experience, preferably in an educational system, would be considered an asset. Ability to exercise considerable judgement and tact in understanding the needs of schools, instructional leaders, other senior management, elected officials, associations, the general public and all levels of government. Proven proficiency in computerized financial systems, include the Microsoft Office Suite of products and preferably K212.
