About Our Opportunity Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accounting and Reception Clerk is responsible for providing courteous and productive reception services for the Edward F. Lorraine Building and Crown Lending Agencies. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, mail support, document preparation and tracking, records management, bank deposits, booking and upkeep of the Edward F. Lorraine board and meeting rooms. Working in a fast-paced team environment, duties also include maintaining information dealing with loan client files, documentation and electronic information, and accounts payable. The position supports board meeting logistics arrangement of meeting venues, handling board member travel needs, and acts as recording secretary during board meetings. As part of the Accounting team, the Accounting and Reception Clerk will be required to establish an efficient work schedule and work within a team oriented environment. The candidate will also be expected to work under minimal supervision. Qualifications And Experience You have a high school education plus three (3) years of related experience. An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. In addition to the above, you will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (or comparable word processing and spreadsheet software). You should have a creative eye to promote the optimal use of computer technology to enhance work processes and maximize efficiencies. Good fundamental bookkeeping and data entry skills, organizational, and interpersonal skills in a team environment, and an ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines are required attributes. Training and experience with an accounting or ERP system is desirable. Familiarity with Farm Loan Board, Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board, Timber Loan Board and the Department of Agriculture objectives and programs, and lending processes would be considered assets. You have developed strong communication skills in interacting with a variety of people and will demonstrate these skills during the interview process. Experience attending board meetings and taking minutes will be considered assets. You possess excellent organizational skills, prioritization, judgement and initiative, as the successful candidate will work independently and is often without supervision. Discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality is extremely important in this environment.
