Job Description

Role Overview The Application Specialist is the primary service provider to ensure that Guardian treatment programs perform at the least cost operating scenario within customer sites. The Applications Engineer works closely with Account Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and the Industrial Sales Director to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through achieving a high-performance standard. Responsibilities Visit client sites to conduct chemical testing to ensure programs are at optimal levels. Write Technical Service Reports for clients which document successful application of chemical treatment programs within the DATAGUARD software application. Achieve target system performance through adjustment of chemical dosages and optimization of equipment. Assist in account management through ensuring inventories are maintained at proper levels and that all preventive maintenance is performed on equipment to ensure reliable operation and optimum performance. Communicate with customers to ensure that the treatment program is a strong collaborative effort where Guardian oversight assures success. Work safely and with minimal supervision in all aspects of the role including vehicle travel to various sites. Ensure all hazard assessments are completed when necessary and provide training for customers on safe handling and procedures related to chemicals. Support the sales team through participation in new account set up and in training and mentoring new staff members. Ensure key account information and customer notes are accurate and up to date in the CRM. Continuously learn through extensive training and hands on experiences to become a SAGD, Mining, and Industrial cleaning chemical specialist. Comply with and support our Quality and Environmental Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. Qualifications Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Self-starter with the ability to get multiple tasks done within a workday. Positive attitude with the ability to connect and communicate with a diverse range of client contacts. A strong mechanical aptitude and the desire to be in a handson role. Excellent organizational, planning, problemsolving, decisionmaking and timemanagement skills. Physical capability to manage stairs, ladders, and some moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs). Excellent computer skills that include the use of MS Office Suite of products. Previous experience in customerfacing roles. Postsecondary education in Science or Engineering is considered an asset. Postsecondary experience with petroleum or chemical engineering systems is considered an asset.
