Role Description Arcadis is seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Architectural Technologist/Contract Administrator to join our Calgary Landscape Architecture + Urban Design Studio, working on diverse projects throughout Alberta as well as providing support to our other offices in the west region. Our Calgary office includes one of the longest established Landscape Architectural practices in Western Canada and since joining Arcadis from IBI Group, we have continued to evolve into a thriving, diverse, stable and energetic Landscape Architecture + Urban Design practice. As part of this team, you will help and support the design and implementation of high quality and sustainable public and private spaces. You will be working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, involved in all phases of projects from schematic design through to contract administration. Your role will primarily be focused on supporting our contract administrators including field work during the construction season, to ensure designs are adhered to through site inspections and monitoring contractors work. Role Accountabilities Work with Landscape Architects to prepare conceptual designs and assist throughout design development and construction documentation Collaborate with other disciplines including planning, architectural and engineering technologists Work cooperatively as part of a team and collaboratively with peers and clients, internally and externally. Ensure project deliverables comply with local standards and contract requirements Prepare construction detail drawings using CAD and LandFX Complete quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates Monitor and inspect construction works, and complete contract administration tasks Assist with preparation of specifications and technical reports Assist with generating presentation drawings using Adobe Suite and Sketch Up Meet project deadlines Establish and maintain good working relationships with contractors On-site field reviews and landscape construction inspections (including associated paperwork) Support the project manager, field staff and landscape architect Qualifications & Experience Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology 3-5 years of experience as a Landscape Architectural Technologist Construction knowledge and field experience Experience with contract administration (construction monitoring and site inspections, etc.) Knowledge of local plant materials and construction methodologies Experience in preparation of contract documents including unit price schedules, specifications and working drawings Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land FX, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and other graphics software. Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills. Organized with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team and collaborate. The PTAN (Part Time As Needed) contract of employment will have an end date of Nov 30, 2026 after which the position will be reviewed and contract potentially renewed if workload permits and performance has been good. The salary range for this position is $60,000- $75,000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
