Salary: $43.99 to $60.41 per hour plus 11.2% in lieu of holidays and vacation. About Us Elections Alberta is an independent, nonpartisan office of the Legislature. Elections Alberta is responsible for administering provincial elections, byelections and referenda. Our mission is to serve Albertans as an independent election management body committed to the administration of modern, transparent, and accessible democratic processes that ensure the integrity and enhance the value of Albertas electoral system. Role Responsibilities Reporting to the Development Lead, the Systems Analyst will develop and maintain high quality applications to enhance Elections Albertas web services to various stakeholders. The Systems Analyst solves problems with limited information and uses strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent client services. As a Systems Analyst, you will actively partner with internal teams to create and prioritize the product roadmap. You will deliver fullstack development projects focused on the mission and mandate of Elections Alberta. The ideal candidate should successfully be able to: Design and build Microsoft SQL databases that meet the longterm needs of the system. Work on data transformation, automated data scraping and data matching, and data repository. Understand and improve / modernize legacy systems, build functional and userfriendly interfaces for optimal user experiences. Manage concurrent projects with competing priorities. Work in a team environment applying coding standards and best practices. Perform code reviews and cross testing work from team members. Qualifications A cover letter is required. Education and Experience A university degree in computer science or a related discipline plus two years related experience; or a twoyear diploma in computer technology or a related discipline plus four years related experience. Skills and Abilities Organizational skills to respond to varied staff needs and effectively prioritize daily workload, coupled with a strong commitment to client services. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups with varying degrees of systems expertise, to assist in diagnosing and resolving problems identified. Ability to work in a team environment applying coding standards and best practices. Ability to perform code reviews and cross testing work from team members. Strong working knowledge of the following: Web API design and implementation Microsoft SQL Server Knowledge and experience in the following are considered assets: Python GIS related knowledge (geospatial data) FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) by Safe Software Data analysis and transformation Applicants must be willing and able to: Fulfil the requirement and act as a nonpartisan representative of Elections Alberta.
