NCQA Role Description This is a remote, contract role for an NCQA Accreditation Consultant at MHR. The consultant will work 2030 billable hours per week and partner with clients to evaluate current compliance, identify gaps, mentor staff, develop strategies, and provide project management support if needed. Daily tasks include file reviews, staff training on standards, and creating documentation to meet accreditation requirements within budgets. Formal onboarding and mentoring support are provided. This is a dedicated consulting role, not a temporary placeholder or secondary job. Qualifications - MUST have at least two cycles of recent (20202026) hands-on NCQA accreditation experience, including evaluation of documents against standards, assisting clients in meeting requirements, and preparing submission documents. Also includes reviewing accreditation files across product lines (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange). Do not apply if these basic requirements are not met. - Hands-on involvement in at least two cycles from application to survey documentation, with prioritization of activities for multiple lines of business. - For clinicians: hands-on involvement with NCQA products such as health equity, population health, UM accreditation, QI, case management. For non-clinicians: involvement with credentialing, quality improvement, network management, and member experience; health equity experience is a plus. - Current NCQA surveyor preferred, but non-surveyors are accepted. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail; ability to conduct detailed evaluations of client documentation against NCQA standards. - Ability to provide detailed guidance to clients at different levels and to mitigate gaps for surveys. - Ability to develop detailed documentation to meet standards when requested. - Ability to work with clients in a respectful, non-judgmental manner and mentor them to meet standards. - Experience conducting work group meetings and the ability to educate, train, and mentor individuals. - Self-motivated and able to work independently; manage time to meet client and firm deadlines. - Strong organizational skills and ability to work with multiple clients on assignments with competing needs and timelines. - Proactive in identifying issues early and communicating clearly via email, readiness assessments, and verbally. - Willingness to collaborate in a team environment; teachability and ongoing learning mindset. - Commitment to 2032 billable hours per week. - Education: Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field; masters degree is a plus. For clinicians, RN license is required. - Must pass a background check and provide three references knowledgeable about your work and character. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), ability to use Adobe for bookmarking and document manipulation, and comfort with web-based technologies (including CRMs); must have a computer and backup, a phone, and a private workspace for confidential work.
