Responsibilities - This is a front-line customer service role focusing on day-to-day operations of the Kananaskis Information Program, including handling visitor inquiries, performing retail sales, issuing passes, cash handling, compiling and posting Regional trail data, editing data on the Alberta Parks website, and responding to inquiries via email, phone, social media, and mail. - Provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for day users and overnight campers, in person at the information booth and during registration. - Register campers, update visitor information, and process payments or refunds using reserve.albertaparks.ca. - Operate cash register and point of sale system; manage till float. - Manage retail sales, orders, inventory, and stock; complete daily opening and closing tasks and ensure location is open during scheduled hours. - Participate in booth operations, campground compliance, shower coin collection, group unit counts, and daily cleaning; respond to customer complaints and follow up as needed. - Learn and adhere to policies, procedures, OH&S protocols, campground regulations, and Government of Alberta directives; understand emergency protocols. - Respond to in-person and telephone/email requests for information on area amenities and recreational activities; advise on rules, policies, and regulations within Provincial Parks. - Stay up-to-date on activities, opportunities, and conditions (trails, water, fishing, etc.); plan and deliver activities to support special events. - Complete daily cash-outs and enter data into Excel; record and organize statistics for public visitation and demographics as required. - Place orders for supplies and inventory to ensure proper stock prior to periods of increased visitation. Qualifications - Required: High School Diploma (post-secondary education preferred); one year of customer service experience. - Equivalency: one year of related experience or education can be considered for one year of education or vice versa. - Additional assets: exceptional English proficiency; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet). Experience in Tourism & Hospitality, Administration, Communications, Accounting, or Business with strong customer service; previous Alberta Parks experience and familiarity with Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca; cash handling experience; supervisory/leadership experience; campground operations knowledge. - Refer to minimum recruitment standards for appointment to the job classification. Terms of Employment - Start date variable; contract ends October 31, 2026 with possible extension. - Evening and weekend work required; premium pay applies. - Reliable transportation to work; Alberta Class 5 Drivers License required; provide drivers abstract prior to commencement. - First Aid/CPR Level C/AED certificate required prior to hire; adhere to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy. - Some outdoor work may be required in various weather conditions.
