Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Manager is accountable for the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet, ensuring timely, accurate financial close and strong technical accounting compliance under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This role partners closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Commercial Finance team, and external auditors, and plays a key role in maintaining updated internal controls and financial reporting discipline. The Accounting Manager will also interact with senior leaders, including Directors and Controllers, and must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.**Responsibilities**Balance Sheet Oversight:* Full ownership of balance sheet accounts, including preparation and review of monthly reconciliations* Perform detailed variance analysis with clear explanations for management* Proactively identify and resolve reconciling items, aged balances, and accounting risks* Prepare balance sheet rollforwards and supporting schedules for audit and management reviewGeneral Ledger & MonthEnd Close:* Manage the monthend, halfyear, and yearend close processes, ensuring all internal and corporate head office deadlines are met* Review and approve journal entries to ensure accurate posting to the general ledger in accordance with IFRS* Manage subledger to general ledger reconciliations (bank reconciliations, fixed assets, commodity and corporate taxes, payroll, intercompany, accounts receivable and accounts payable)* Maintain and govern the chart of accounts and documentation standards for the close processFinancial Reporting:* Support budget and forecast cycles through accurate financial reporting and variance analysis, with a focus on administrative operating expenses and leasing/rent costs* Prepare and maintain standardized reporting schedules, templates, and supporting analysis for budgeting and forecasting* Produce clear actualversusbudget/forecast variance analysis with tailored executive commentaryAudit, Controls & Compliance:* Act as a key point of contact for external auditors for general ledger and balance sheet areas* Partner with crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure all audit deliverables are met* Ensure compliance with Lindt Internal Control Standards (LICS) across all functional areasLeadership & Continuous Improvement:* Manage the accounting team and review work to ensure accuracy and completeness* Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, reconciliations, and workflows* Support system enhancements and accountingrelated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) improvements* Provide coaching and development to direct reportsAdHoc:* Lead special project implementations where required and support the Financial Controller in process improvement initiatives* Respond to inquiries from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Controller, and department leaders regarding financial results and specialized reporting requests* Advise staff on handling nonroutine reporting transactions**Qualifications*** 45 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or general ledger accounting, including 12 years of supervisory experience* Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation* Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS* Prior public accounting experience (Big Four or midtier firm) strongly preferred* Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software is an asset* Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines* Effective people leadership and project management skills* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ability to thrive and have fun in a committed, hardworking environment**Rewards Package**The standard hiring range for this role is $90,000-$115,000 CAD per annum with a 15% performance-based bonus.
