Title: Plant Manager / Production Manager Casegoods Status: Full-Time Location: North York, ON (Keele St and Finch Ave) Summary: Seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations within its Casegoods division. This role is responsible for full plant performance, including production, safety, quality, cost control, and delivery. The position will lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with key operational metrics while managing a team and driving efficiency across manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee all plant operations to meet performance targets related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory - Collaborate with production leaders and department managers to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing outcomes using Lean principles - Develop and manage plant budgets, optimizing labor, materials, and operational costs - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and related methodologies - Monitor and improve plant performance, focusing on production efficiency, defect reduction, and on-time delivery - Implement cost control measures across labor, overtime, freight, and maintenance expenses - Ensure smooth production flow by eliminating bottlenecks and delays in manufacturing and shipping - Oversee facility maintenance, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects - Partner with engineering and R&D teams to support product development and material testing - Align production planning with scheduling and procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels - Lead safety programs and ensure compliance with health and safety standards - Promote organized and efficient shop floor processes in collaboration with engineering teams - Manage and develop plant staff, including supervisors and team leads, fostering leadership growth and accountability - Support training and development initiatives to enhance workforce capability and succession planning - Ensure product quality meets established standards and certification requirements - Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as customer service, quality, and warehousing Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (casegoods, furniture, cabinetry, automotive, or similar industries) - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and assembly - Proven experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies - Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving operational performance - Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with MES systems integrated with ERP platforms - Familiarity with furniture or casegoods construction and engineering processes - Experience leading large teams in a production environment - Knowledge of ISO quality standards and compliance requirements Key Skills Required: - Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement - Leadership & Team Development - Production Planning & Process Optimization - Financial & Cost Management - Quality Assurance & Compliance
