The team is based in Alberta, and while we embrace our core value that we are better together, we do offer flexible work solutions and hybrid work situations.In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to all stages of a projects lifecycle including assessment, permitting and approval requirements, construction support, and post-construction support. Working with our biological, physical sciences, human environment, and engineering teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading environmental assessments and permitting activities for a variety of projects. These projects will typically be in the oil and gas, power production and distribution, urban land development, transportation and infrastructure and water and waste sectors. Typical projects include small to large-scale provincial and federal pipelines, oil and gas facilities, and power-related projects (including renewables). We are always growing as we continue to adapt to the changing environment in which we work and are excited to work on a number of energy transition projects.The ideal candidate for this position is one that is a self-motivated, demonstrated effective communicator who thrives working in a team environment and a creative thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills and a drive to support clients and internal teams to find solutions.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review environmental assessments, regulatory applications and technical submissionsSupport and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, standards and guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all project phasesDrive project delivery with a key focus on efficient execution, project controls, and safetyWork in a collaborative team of technical environmental and engineering specialists to support the approval and permitting processContribute to proposals, pre- qualifications, and relationship building with existing and prospective clientsCommunicate and collaborate with other environmental and regulatory specialists to ensure consistency in project executionParticipate in team and independent based workTake part in on the job learning and professional development opportunitiesQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsAbility to work with initiative, professionalism and confidentiality, multi-task and adapt to change in a very dynamic environmentStrong understanding of provincial (AB, BC) and federal regulations, environmental assessment processes, permitting requirements and construction planning needsKey knowledge includes experience within one or more of the following regulatory agencies/legislations:AUCAEREPEACERStrong attention to detailDemonstrated effective writing and communication skillsEffective writing and communication skillsProven problem-solving skills and innovative thinkingCommitted to providing quality deliverables in a timely mannerEducation and ExperienceA bachelors degree in the Sciences, Environmental Studies or relevant Engineering field.Holding or eligibility to obtain a relevant professional designation (e.g., P. Bio, R.P.F., P.Ag, EP, P.Eng) preferred but, not necessary.A minimum of 5 years of environmental and regulatory related experience in the energy sector (upstream and/or midstream oil and gas, mining, electrical transmission, power generation, energy transition).Previous consulting experience preferred.This role is a typical office environment, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
