Position Grant Management Consultant Reports to People Leader, Program Excellence & Impact Delivery Position Term Consultant / Independent Contractor Primary Location Workplace Type Remote (Canada-based; international travel asrequired) Job Purpose The Grant Management Consultant will work collaboratively across Program & Policy (P&P), the World Vision Partnership, and with Field Offices, Regional Offices, and the Global Centre to support delivery against P&Ps three strategic priorities: Impact, Income, and Influence. The Consultant will provide end-to-end grant management expertise to optimize resources, strengthen delivery quality, and ensure institutional donorfunded projects are implemented in line with approved project design documents, donor agreements, and World Vision standards. This includes providing technical guidance, monitoring and evaluation support, and strategic oversight throughout the grant lifecycle. The Consultant will serve as a subjectmatter expert for assigned grants and relevant geographic, management and/or technical areas, synthesizing and communicating project progress, results, risks, and learning to a range of internal and external stakeholders. They will work alongside peer consultants and internal teams to coordinate workloads, troubleshoot challenges, and contribute to communities of practice and knowledge sharing. Responsibilities - Provide grant management and advisory support to ensure highquality execution, effective risk management, delivery of intended outcomes, and fulfillment of donor commitments and contractual obligations. - Oversee implementation progress to ensure results and donor reports are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with institutional donor requirements. - Design and operationalize reporting and learning processes that communicate results clearly and incorporate lessons learned to strengthen ongoing and future grant implementation. - Apply ResultsBased Management (RBM) approaches and tools to track progress against objectives, outputs, and outcomes. - Coordinate and/or contribute to key grant deliverables, including project startup workshops, partner agreements, workplans, donor reports, annual reviews, evaluations, and project closeout activities. - Support knowledge management and learning by documenting and sharing project achievements and insights through partnership meetings, donor engagement, academic forums, and print and digital communications. - In collaboration with WVC MEAL and technical specialists, provide technical support for assessments, surveys, evaluations, and the establishment of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems. - Work closely with the Grant Finance Officer and WVC Legal team to support the preparation, review, and negotiation of donor contracts and amendments. - In collaboration with Program Finance, monitor project financial performance, including expenditures, cash flow, recovery of overheads, financial risks, and funding timelines, and flag risks or issues requiring corrective action. Qualifications - University degree in international development, community/social development, business development, or related field. - 57 years of demonstrated experience managing or advising on institutional donorfunded international grants and projects. - Strong experience applying ResultsBased Management approaches and designing or supporting Monitoring & Evaluation systems. - Proven experience supporting or coordinating remote, crossfunctional, and crosscultural teams delivering development projects. - Experience engaging with academic and/or research partners is an asset. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly for diverse audiences. - Strong attention to detail, particularly in reviewing project documentation and providing highquality technical feedback. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and cultures to support alignment with strategic priorities. - Ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously with sound judgment, initiative, and confidence. - Availability and willingness to travel internationally as required (approximately once per year), including to higherrisk environments. Nature of the Engagement This is a consulting engagement, and the successful candidate will operate as an independent contractor or consultant. Specific deliverables, timelines, level of effort, and engagement duration will be defined in a contract or terms of reference. This posting is to establish a prequalified consultant talent pool for grantfunded work. It is not an active role and does not represent an immediate contract or employment opportunity.
